Mat and Tash met about 5 years ago at the extinct Red Eye in Islington, London by chance – both were asked to perform at the last minute due to cancellations. Mat was interested in Tash as soon as he saw her setting up her kit, as he is a massive Prince fan and always liked the idea of having a girl drummer (he even wrote her a song shortly after called “My Girl Drummer”. Tash was immediately drawn in by Mat’s songs and melodies, especially a song called “Stay With Me”, and knew she wanted to work with him.It took awhile, but eventually they started to work together and make the music they wanted to make. Since then, they have done countless recordings in their home studio, and have just finished recording their second album, “Counting on a Second”. Their first album, “The Soundtrack to Our Lives” was independently released in December, 2000 and they have sold all 1000 copies, which they are very proud of. They make a great team as Mat is the “artistic one” and is a bit of a mad dreamer, whereas Tash is very logical and practical with a business mind. They are both hard-working and determined and will do whatever it takes to be successful. They have performed live on Sky Television (which was amazing) and often perform in front of hundreds of people. Mat is a natural in the spotlight, and loves the attention and admiration. They hope to make many more albums and play as many exciting gigs as possible. Their love and obsession with music will keep them going, no matter what!! |
